National Coffee Date. by Nathaniel Harrington

It only comes once a year, and it's probably the best day of the year. National Coffee Day yesterday became worthy of a blog post. Spent the afternoon with Chauncey Robinson at the Patisserie in Vero Beach, Fl. Sipping on some joe and talking winter surf plans.

I do love a good cup of coffee and it's hard to find a better cup than what the Patisserie serves up. Pretty cool cafe with amazing food as well. It was the only choice for National Coffee Day.

I hope you got your fix on yesterday, if not, just dream into these images and pretend like you did.

I go with black, and when I'm at the Patisserie the Monkey Bread with chocolate chunks gets me every time.

Waiting in anticipation for that cup of coffee that will change the day, make it better and brighter.

Chaun Chaun has been experimenting with tattooing himself. First Tats get dedicated to a cup of Coffee. He's a true surfer.

Thank You for a few minutes and sorry for the worthlessness of this post. But hey, it's all for the coffee.

Florida Spotlight from Surfline. by Nathaniel Harrington

I'm so amped on this feature which Surfline put out two days ago.

Inside you will find some seriously good shots from a handful of Florida's finest surf photographers. Also, I am very excited about the interview they gave me in this feature. It's a pretty wild feeling being included with Surfline's top photographers. Stoked is an understatement, blessed is a good way to put it. Shoots Boiz I can't wait for some swell!

Check it out and enjoy!

River Lee Underwater. by Nathaniel Harrington

Teaching River to swim has been a blast! I remember learning to swim myself and I do hope this is a time River can remember for life. She follows right in the foot steps of both Tatum and I. (tatum is amazing underwater...) Such a privilege we have as parents! :)

The past two days she has really become an underwater girl. Her floaty may possibly be retired at this point. Once your underwater, its hard to be satisfied being above it.

Here's a short edit I made of River swimming from earlier today. Shot with iPhone 6 and WaterShot Housing.

Thanks for stopping in!

Have a great week!

River Lee Harrington by Nathaniel Harrington

Aloha!

Experiencing the life of my daughter River has to be the neatest thing to ever happen to my life. Seeing this little girl that has so much of her Mother and myself in her, yet so independent and unique in everything she likes and does.

Last evening River and I were at the fountains in Vero Beach playing around with bubbles, shooting photos and such.. She sat down on the concrete corner for on of the pillars and her facial expression was one I haven't yet seen. How can this 2 1/2 year old even contemplate like that? Her mother is an amazing model (tatumharrington.com) and I see River following in those steps.

Yes, she was very happy and filled with joy while we were playing, we just were able to capture one of her still moments with a serious face. I actually had her do it twice which she re created the expression with no issues at all.

All around I am feeling like a proud dad with a huge blessing of a family. Praising the Lord for it daily. :)

My little thinker. Its cool to see her noticing more and more of her surroundings.

She is the cutest. That modeling talent is shining bright in her.

Again just so blessed.

Thank you for checking out my site and have an awesome Sunday.

CA Update, Surf is Pumping. by Nathaniel Harrington

Hey guys!

I always mean to post more especially when I'm away on a trip, but usually it ends up with me getting super busy and falling asleep while trying to just edit the photos. Thats definitely been the case this trip. After swimming 3-4 hours multiple times a day in massive surf its been my priority to to rest rather than post.

So CA has had amazing surf, some of the best conditions seen for a lowers surf comp, and novelty breaks have been going off. Its been a photographers paradise and I wanted to share a glimpse of whats been happening.

Lower Trestles with Everyone

Baron Mamiya going huge on a kick out air during the USA Surfing Championships at Lowers.

Victor Bernardo with a massive punt at Lowers.

Caroline Marks took home two more titles at this years USA Surfing Championships. She is now at 17 total world titles.

Chaun Chaun Florence ( Chauncey Robinson).

San Diego with CT Taylor

CA "box" impersonation wave.

CT Taylor in a San Diego slab.

Strands with Kevin Schulz.

Woke up to a sunrise and offshores. The swell had dropped a little but it was still super fun and very clean.

Kevin Schuls put in some turns, airs, and barrels.

Speed skating through the barrel.

Breakfast at the Harbor House on a Sunday is a must, especially after such a rad session. The lifestyles just came naturally.

Shoots, it has been awesome! I'm over my head in photos and waiting to get back home before even looking at most of them. I have a few more days out here and I'm looking forward to every second of it.

Thanks for stopping in! And have a wonderful day.

Two weeks in Southern California. by Nathaniel Harrington

hola!

Well its June and that means that most serious u18 surfers will be in southern california this week for the Surfing America Championships. Stoked to say that I am here as well. Its a pretty fun time of the year to shoot at Lowers when all the kids are surfing their brains out.

I've been here for a couple days now shooting and have covered a bit of the Volcom TCT a couple lay days, and am now looking forward to the start of the nationals tomorrow. its going to be an exciting few days as some of the best up comers rip into North America's greatest wave.

Here's a glimpse of what I got so far.

Kolohe Anding putting on a clinic at Lowers, San Clemente, CA.

Griffin Colapinto blow tail at Lowers, San Clemente, CA.

Groms frothing on overhead sections.

Matt Passaquindici ripping into a section during the quarters for the Volcom TCT Champs. Check out that wall of water building up just waiting to get ripped into. Ah Lowers...

The groms watching Kolohe rip into a wave, dreams are born here.

Friendly gestures... classic lifestyles.

Kolohe and Griffin.

Chaunchoo tore into his heats during the Volcom TCT, bummer to see him put out in QF, still a great result earned by hard work.

Playing around in San Clemente.

Chauncey Robinson killing it with the panoramic. Thanks for the pic man.

Roof top views in-between surf comps.

Donuts are flowing pretty heavily, special thanks to Surfin Donuts for all the fuel.

Only one way to burn off some donuts and that's by surfing.

Matthew Glenn under the cliffs at State.

Tough to see at a first glance but Matthew Glenn is tucked into that barrel, he even sneaked the doggy door.

Chaun and his man turns.

Evan Brownell throwing it up in a punchy beach break. This North Florida surfer rips.

Speed ollies with Matthew Glenn.

Chauncey Robinson going sledding.

Water Spots and the boys.

Back to Lowers and sessions with the groms.

A small gallery from a fun evening session at Lowers.

Good to see Blake Spier here and shredding.

Chase Modelski with a big tail blow.

Matthew Glenn

Jake Hembree cutting carves

Matt

One for the Pelicans.

Its always fun here, and I'm really looking forward to this week. We have some solid swell in the forecast with the possibilities to really score. I'm hoping some serious work can get done starting at 5:30 am tomorrow.

Keep checking back for more updates as this trip unfolds.

thanks,
