Central Florida

April Swell Part One by Nathaniel Harrington

where did da waves go man?

Crazy days.

We all saw the forecast for this swell at least two weeks out and boy did it look promising for a few of those first days. Surfline called for 9-11ft at first, then it dropped to 1-3ft with bad winds, then about the day of the swell it called for 4-5ft with occasional 7ft and solid off shore winds. Thats when we all got hyped and started to lose our minds and that is when the alarm clocks go off at 4am and the coffee gets brewed on triple strength. Haha, typical FL stuff... The real story always unfolds when you walk up to the sand and get your first sight of whats really happening.

No complaints from me on what turned out to truthfully be a 1-3 ft day with really strong offshore winds. It let us down a little in the morning, but we literally spent the entire day trying to find what we were looking for, and all that time spent searching turned into an honest day's work with a great reward, as usual I would say.

Check out the gallery of Central Florida having yet one more super fun day this winter.

I imagine myself sounding like a WSL announcer saying "Oh Chauncey Robinson with a layback jam in the pocket, perfect finish there potz"

Chauncey Robinson getting fins free on his backhand.

The real locals, surfing as they always do.

Jade Morgan.

Wiley Robinson joined us on his 21st birthday and cracked a few off the top.

Wiley Robinson Layback.

Happy Birthday Barrel for this guy.

Chauncey Robinson finding that rare gem, one of the better barrels we have linked up on in this spot.

Jade Morgan making sure he found a barrel as well.

the whip.

It was one of those days with a lot of down time waiting for tides and such. So i got to hang out with the boys, eat eggs and bacon, and enjoy this FL lifestyle we get to live. Tough days to be a kid.

This may not be a perfect a-frame but if this doesn't look appealing to you then there is something wrong. I'm amazed walking down to the beach most of the time, especially when the water, sky and land look like this!

What a day to enjoy.

This is labeled as part one because there is a part two. Later this day we ended back at Sebastian Inlet and well you'll have to check back in to see what happened there.

Thanks so much for taking a look,

NSB on Monday by Nathaniel Harrington

Back in Florida and frothing to shoot.

A bunch of rad groms including Caroline Marks are in town for the NSSA East Coast Championships, so i headed up to NSB to see them and try to get some shots. Surf is small but fun this week, just enough to get some turns in.

Always stoked to shoot with the Glenn's as well, and they are always killing it so it makes it easy. Always a good time with those guys.

Bringing the ladies to the beach.

So good to see the East Coasts most talented female ripper, Caroline Marks.

Nose Chillin.

Small but fun enough, Daniel Glenn can make the most out of days like this.

Strongest backhand this side of the Mississippi, Caroline Marks always impresses.

Matthew Glenn was trying so hard to find a wedge to link up on with me, and then I almost missed this wave as I was snapping some images of Natalie Glenn, the Glenn's ripping mom! But, Managed to hip shoot this frame and kinda like it.

Caroline's youngest brother Dawson Marks. He's a fire ball and the raddest grom I know.

Smooth Stepping

Its good to see Daniel recovering from an ankle injury. He's definitely getting his air game back on point.

Matthew Glenn.

Shakkas

Matthew Glenn hunting down some weggies with me. Stoked to link up so much even in tough conditions. Like I said, they make it easy. Stoked!

Not a bad way to start of a week. Monday's aren't all that bad.

Thanks for visiting my blog and have a great day!

Fluid Magazine. Cover #3 and El Nino Story. by Nathaniel Harrington

Its a great day when you get the notification that you have one more cover in the bag. Today I landed my third cover, second this month(#2 story coming soon).

Matthew Glenn and I linked up on a few decent barrels down south this past February where we got this shot now featured as page #1 in Fluid Magazine.  Its an honor and a privilege, so stoked!

Make sure to flip over to the El Nino story to check out several more of my shots including some of Daniel Glenn, Tommy Coleman, and a beautiful empty barrel shot to kick it off.

Again Thanks Fluid Mag and Matthew!

The Barrel Post. by Nathaniel Harrington

We've had a few proper days in what seem to me to be an extremely slow winter. But, the days we have had are some really good days.

About a week ago we had an amazing south swell pop up. It wasn't huge, but the shape was perfect. There's been claims by many that this was the best barrel day of their lives. Well, take a look and decide if you think it would have been fun.

Waking up to Central Florida blessings.

not huge, but very playful.

I think a lot of people had their eyes locked onto views like this.

Brock Taylor on the hunt.

Chauncey Robinson.

I wasn't able to swim long, the current was gnarly but the views were epic.

Unknown to me in left hand drainer.

Matthew Glenn.

Brandon DeFillipo.

Matthew freaked these pelicans out.

I had to give up on swimming, just wan't getting the results I wanted. So I headed into the beach to shoot lifestyles of the Chaun.

Epic running lifey.

The views from the beach weren't to bad, so i stuck around to snipe off a few.

Daniel Glenn came to play.

Daniel Glenn. A guy walked by me and commented, "why would you do an air instead of get barreled??". I would say why not do a big air over a barrel section, seems fun to me!

Matthew Glenn, little chopper.

It was a-frames and offshores. Great job Florida.

Brock Taylor practicing barrel rides for an upcoming trip to Central America.

Daniel and Brock working together to gain scale on wave hight and air hight.

Mike Knapp logged serious barrel time.

Give Daniel Glenn some steep sections and watch him explode.

Every time I looked, Mike Knapp getting pitted.

My buddy Kieth said he made more barrels this day than any other time he can remember.

Daniel, seriously.

Brandon DeFillipo tearing in on his backhand.

Senior Brock. He's always out to have a good time.

Really good surf.

Where were you!!?

Seriously.. that right.

Another of Kieth.

I've been fishing with Chris Yergans a lot lately and I can tell you both his surfing and fishing are on point.

Not sure who this gentleman is, but i'm pretty sure he would be stoked to see this sequence. If you know him let him know!

Scenic Florida.

Another unknown to me reaping the benefits of a good wind swell.

Yergans catching barrels like they're snook.

This guy is stoked.

Chaunchooooo.

Mike Knapp pretending he's still in Hawaii.

Where were you Volume 2.

The Chaun. Forever known as, The Chaun.

Brandon DeFillipo almost able to stand up, and he's a big kid.

Matthew Glenn packed up a few lefts.

Another unknown gliding through some clean barrel space.

Looking into the hunny hole.

Chris Yergans on this like a redfish in the mangroves.

Yergans new approach to barrel riding.

Daniel Glenn kinda made the surf pay, hacking it to pieces.

Sorry about a ton of lame captions and non-sense. Its hard to spend this much time at a computer. :/

I hope you scored this day! If you know people in these photos please feel free to share this post with them. I'm sure they will be grateful.

Thanks for all the good times boys.

the Chuan Part 1. by Nathaniel Harrington

I say the Chaun Part 1 because i know parts 2- infinity are still on their way, I'll try to keep tract.

I really enjoy shooting with Chauncey Robinson, he's one of the best, most humble surfers I've ever met. Its always a pleasure.

Yesterday had some fun, brief moments at the inlet, check 'em out.

December and the wetsuits are back. getting ready for buuurrrr.....

If yo rever find yourself standing around with me, and there just happens to be a camera in my hand, there's a solid chance that lifestyles follow.

Frowning is the new cool.

Pretty stoked on these Vissla Wetsuits, they are looking pretty clean cut. Chaun models them well.

Thank You for stopping by!

Winter Months. by Nathaniel Harrington

Tiss the Season... for surf.

Here's another great morning we had at Sebastian Inlet last week. Chest high fun with Chauncey Robinson, Wiley Robinson, Paul Reineke, and Dave Speir.

What a morning to wake up and go for a surf.

That's a view that will never get old. Chauncey Robinson soaking it all in.

That's a view that will never get old. Chauncey Robinson soaking it all in.

A little foggy, amazing colors, couldn't ask for more.

the chaun.

The first barrel was an almost amazing shot.

There were some super fun close out sections and the guys lit them up. Chauncey closed this one out with a bang.

Glassy Moment.

Glassy Moment.

DecemberattheInlet_SebastianInlet_Florida_natehphoto-8000.jpg

How are these next two shots for a winter scene. These frames make me shiver just looking at them.

Icy Peak.

Wiley Robinson making it Snow.

Above sequence, Paul Reineke tagged that close-out hard.

Above Sequence, I love watching Dave Speir surf. Such clean, powerful style.

Chauncey follows right in Dave's footsteps.

I think rainbows are attracted to Chauncey... they just follow him around.

Hows this for a hollow surprise. No takers.

Wiley Robinson found this nugget! That will make getting up early worth it every time.

Speir knows where to find the drainers.

Speir, again...

This is the best. Check out that guy on the pier rocking his powered wheel chair with more rods than a charter boat. Goals.

Stoked to have such a rad crew at the inlet.

Thank you all for visiting!
