Over the weekend... by Nathaniel Harrington

Sunday evening and trying to get another blog post up... This weekend was yet again full of fun surf, some clean conditions worthy of photos, and other conditions where it was just a way better choice to surf than attempt to get a shot.

One of the highlights of my weekend was a sailing session down in Ft. Pierce on Saturday. This was my first time at sailing and it was the best thing ever. It took just a few minutes of getting used to the feel of the boats and then it was on! I loved every second of it. We used little SunFish sailing boats that are mainly used to teach surf. They are very unstable boats due to their light weight construction, so it teaches how to control the boat quickly. I really feel like I got the hang of it fast, and I can't wait to try sailing on larger vessels. If you have never attempted sailing, you need to! It's a blast.

PS. Thank Donothan Williams for supplying the boats and teaching me to sail. :) you da best man!

My wife and I filling the sail with wind, setting out for more practice runs.

And of course here are a few surf shots I gathered over the weekend. Saturday night after the storms passed the sun came out and made for an epic sunset.

Hope you enjoy the shots.

Electric. The sky was on fire!

I hope you also had a wonderful weekend. Please keep on checking in and sharing this blog with people who enjoy Surf Art and Ocean. :)

I really appreciate all the support I've been getting recently! Mahalo Nui.

Vero Beach Shorebreak, Part 3. by Nathaniel Harrington

I'm going to start this off again with a sunrise that I'll never forget. What a beautiful morning.

Here are the rest of the photos that I am going to post, for now, of last monday morning in Vero Beach, Florida. It is amazing what the right tides and off-shore winds will do to surf. I know I was impressed, hope you enjoy also!

I've spent most of my life watching beautiful sunsets, I guess it time to start watching the sunrise.

Close Up.

The two above images are pretty awesome views of a barrel. I obviously played with lighting on them, its fun to see something a bit different.

Peaks like this were going through all morning. 2ft A-frames up and down the beach.

Above: There wasn't much wind but a little gust caught the lip of this wave just as it was throwing over, making this wave one of the most unique I have ever seen. It almost looks like its throwing backwards.

Timing is everything. The absolute calm before the break.

Again this is another all time favorite photo. I ran around the house showing everyone after I finished editing it. My wife even told me that this could potentially become wall art in our house, that's never happened before... Stoked! I love the color of the buildings reflecting off the water and of course the fanned out lip is pretty cool!

Glassy.

It was like that for hours... So much fun!

Thanks so much for checking in! Please do share if you like what you saw!

As Hoped For! by Nathaniel Harrington

Well, I have been Sea Dreaming for the past few weeks for this evening and it has happened! The family and I cruised down to Vero Beach this weekend and as expected there is a little swell in the water. :) Tomorrow and Sunday look really fun! I'm hoping that it does what is saying it will do... Its rare, but sometimes swell charts are accurate. I hope to score a few more barrels this weekend.

Check these out from this evening. I had about 20 min of light by the time I got to the beach, and thankfully everything came together for a fun little shoot sesh finished of with some really fun body surfing. Enjoy.

Crazy how the sun sets on the other side of the earth.. but those colors! They are still so beautiful!

Thanks for checking in.

Day 3 Guatemala. by Nathaniel Harrington

Today was so awesome. It was Potters Field Ministries Kids Day. The campus was swarmed with frothing futbol players eager to play games and watch skits. It's amazing to see the impact happening here.

I did a ton if video work today and have no photos to share of the kids yet... So we'll just look forward to seeing all the action as more edits come out of the school.

My wife, Tatum, wanted to see the coffee shop I go to in the morning to use wifi and blog... It has an amazing view!

I'm going to miss this streets when we leave... :(

I'm going to miss this streets when we leave... :(

later in the evening we wanted to go up the streets to play some basketball.. We were greeted by locals who practice there often, and yes, we got to play them. Turns out Potters Field doesn't boast a dream team, we got spanked hard! Haha. It was fun to   get into the court and play though... They had a giant on their team who could dunk without jumping, we had no chance.

This game ended with Ezequil introducing the Potters Field Mission to the locals and we were able to spend 10-15min praying and talking with them. Awesome. The outcome was worth getting our butts kicked!

they practice here a few times a week and are very organized...  We saw the beating coming from a mile away. :) so fun!

sweet. It was such a busy day today. We have no schedule for tomorrow so I am hoping we can explore deeper.

Till then,
