Saturday Shore Shots. by Nathaniel Harrington

Saturday's are the best day of the week. I get to spend them with my lil girl River Lee all day cause Tatum is off at work. It's a great opportunity for me to take River to the beach and hang out, shoot some photos from shore, and one day teach that girl how to surf. Until I can get in the water with River I will continue to look to her angle finding skills for all my shore shots. :) It's a perfect plan.

This past Saturday we were at Sebastian Inlet where we took some photos of Matt Kechele and Nate Gallagher. The surf was a bit wonky, but the guys made the most of it.

Yah, pre-surf game is strong.

Nate Gallagher, going vert between the weekend warriors and the flying beach patrol.

Matt Kechele finishes off his cutbacks with such ease and style, you can see the level of experience he has in even the smallest of surf.

Kechele, more of that perfect form.

I was shooting with a B&W polarizer, its only fair that I edit one image to be B&W. Nate frontside hack.

River was having a blast at the beach, but there were a few moments when I looked at her and thought that she had become part of the beach. The endless exploring, a million sea shells, and a sandy lunch can leave a lasting impression on a kiddo. I hope she always loves the beach like her mom and I do. :) She looks the part no?

Trevor Gallagher cruised out with Nathan and brought his drone. I'm curious to see of he got any shots... Seeing him play with this almost convinced to to dabble into video.. Thats kinda a big deal.

One last look as we left the beach. The fun never ends.

I hope every weekend is as good as this last weekend. Thanks to my daughter for helping me out with those angles, and thanks to the guys for the great surfing.

White Balance, ESM Feature. by Nathaniel Harrington

Special thanks to Eastern Surf Magazine for throwing this in their White Balance collection. Chauncey and I are stoked!

“The morning that Chauncey Robinson and I linked up for this shot was no different from many other sunrises we’ve seen,” says Florida photographer Nathaniel Harrington. “Very few people were taking advantage of the surf, and the epic sunrise allowed us to get multiple chances to score some shots. There was no wind and it was chest-high at the crack of dawn — perfect conditions for Sebastian Inlet. I personally enjoy wide-angle shots from a distance, as it creates negative space while including the surroundings. I had a few great sequences of Chauncey's brother Wiley, some more air shots, and even some barrels, but this one stood out to me as a little more interesting. I think it's that touch of a fantastic Florida sunrise framed behind the surfer, along with the silhouettes of the fishermen on the jetty, that get me the most. It's the feel of the inlet at its best. The rest is history and it's back to hunting for more sunrises, glassy mornings, and good surfing with the locals. Shot with an SPL water housing, Canon 50D, and Tokina 10-17mm lens.”

Cheers! Lets go shoot some more!

Spanier Family Maternity and Newborn Portraits. by Nathaniel Harrington

We were so excited when this beautiful family asked us to capture some Maternity and also Newborn photos for them. Having shot with them multiple times before it was such a blast to once again get together and capture some more memorable moments that they can now cherish forever.

Our first location was this awesome jungle park in Saint Petersburg, FL.

Our second location was this little beach area and jetty in downtown Saint Petersburg!

Taylor is such a beautiful momma inside and out!

Raegan is so excited to be a Big Sister!

We had planned in advance to capture some underwater Photos with Taylor during the shoot, but unfortunately the day of the shoot the weather dropped into the 50'sand on top of that the pool that we were planning to shoot in didn't have a functioning heater that day. But Taylor being such a great sport and brave momma decided she wanted to still try! Even though the water was freezing it turned out to be a blast and we got some awesome photos out of it! Here are a few of our favorites.

Baby Maisy Quinn Spanier has Arrived!

Born on December 30,2014 at 3:04am in the morning weighing 7lbs 7oz, healthy as can be! We were so excited when we heard the news that Taylor was in labor and just 4 short hours later we were seeing updates on Facebook that little Maisy had arrived, healthy and happy. I was told later on that Taylor's delivery didn't go has she had planned due the how fast baby Maisy wanted to join them! But She remained super strong through it all and delivered her little girl with no medications! You go Girl!

After arriving home, we were able to capture a few photos of little Maisy in her new home! We are so excited with how they turned out; but can't wait to capture more of Maisy and her family in the next few months to come!

Raegan is such a proud Big Sister and as her mommy says such a big helper!

Little smiles!

Hope you all enjoyed seeing this beautiful family as much as we did capturing these moments!

much love,
Nate and Tate

Thompson Family Portraits. by Nathaniel Harrington

My wife and I had the privilege of shooting some family photos with the Thompson's yesterday evening. I get to surf with Terry(the Dad) all the time at the locals favorite spot, Sebastian Inlet. It was great to get out of the water this time around, meet his family, and capture some moments on the beautiful sand of a Florida beach!

It wouldn't be a beach shoot with out some shakas!

It would be impossible for me to explain the amount of energy that Hugh and Duke(the Boys) had! This goes down as one of the most fun shoots I've been apart of.

I tried to keep up... :)

Boys will be Boys.

and sand castles are made to be conquered.

Best Friends!

Moments saved only for a Mother.

Our second location was a cool little dock that terry new of, some more great Florida scenery!

Duke showing his strength!

This world is just a boys playground.

I had a blast shooting these photos! Thanks so much guys for letting me see a glimpse into the Thompson Family Life.

And as mentioned, I get to see and shoot images of Terry often at Sebastian. A few days ago we had some really fun surf go through and I was able to grab this shot just as he was tucking and flying by. Great work Terry!

hanks for viewing,
